Zelma Davila is an attorney, business revitalization coach, entrepreneur, and business leader born in San Juan Puerto Rico. She lives with the firm intention of helping those she interacts with and serves, and making them thrive.

As a settlement negotiator and bankruptcy attorney, Zelma has represented debtors in thousands of consumers and business bankruptcycases, successfully obtaining confirmations of reorganization plans and discharge of debt.
She provides alternative counsel and highly skilled legal representation every step of the way from analysis of the client’s financial situation to providing the necessary tools to obtain financial freedom. Her legal practice is results-oriented and is aimed to accomplish her clients’ debt elimination goals.
Zelma Graduated in 1998 from the honors program of the University of Puerto Rico, with a B.A. magna cumlaude in political science.
She continued her studies and obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Puerto Rico in 2001, where she served as editor, and then as Associate of the Editorial board of the University of Puerto Rico Law Review from 1999 to 2001. She was recognized by "Who's Who Among American Law Students", and was the winner of the Commercial Law Foundation writing contest at the University of Puerto Rico.
After working in several law firms, since 2004 and up to the present, Zelma serves as a member and managing partner of Almeida & Davila, PSC a Debt Resolution Law Firm based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her practice focuses primarily on commercial and personal bankruptcy, including chapters 7, 11, and 13, and on IRS Tax Resolution for individuals and businesses.
Zelma has over 20 years of experience as a legal counsel and trial attorney representing a multitude of clients in diverse areas of law including: Bankruptcy, Construction, Government Contracting, Collections, Foreclosure, Telecommunications, Employment, and Commercial Disputes.
Zelma also serves as a volunteer of Credit Abuse Resistance Education (C.A.R.E.) educating children and adolescents about the use of credit and the management of their personal finances, and in SCORE mentoring business owners.
She is a member of the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the International Society of Therapeutic Jurisprudence.
